Compound monograph — GLP1 S + Cagrilintide

GLP1 S + Cagrilintide pairs two peptide analogs that act on different receptor systems: GLP1 S, a synthetic GLP-1 receptor agonist peptide analog, and cagrilintide, a stable, lipidated analog of the pancreatic hormone amylin. GLP-1 acts at the GLP-1 receptor, while amylin acts at receptors formed by the calcitonin receptor and a receptor activity-modifying protein (RAMP), with its main peripheral binding site in the area postrema of the hindbrain. The literature below covers each component separately; no combination study is cited. Research Market supplies the blend with purity and identity data for each lot reported on its certificate of analysis. It is sold strictly for laboratory research use.

Components

  • GLP1 S: GLP-1 receptor agonist peptide analog; CAS 910463-68-2; C187H291N45O59; 4114 g/mol; PubChem CID 56843331
  • Cagrilintide: lipidated 37-residue amylin analog; CAS 1415456-99-3; C194H312N54O59S2; 4409 g/mol; PubChem CID 171397054
  • Form: Lyophilized powder
  • Analytical methods: RP-HPLC for purity and mass spectrometry for identity, reported on the batch certificate of analysis

Research applications

  • GLP-1 physiology: GLP-1 is a 30-amino-acid hormone from intestinal L-cells; reviewed actions include insulin secretion, glucagon inhibition, slower gastrointestinal motility and regulation of food intake [1]
  • GLP-1 receptor circuits: Reviewed for the GLP-1 receptor-positive cell types and pathways that carry GLP-1 signals to islet function, appetite and cardiovascular physiology [2]
  • Amylin analog design: The development report describes cagrilintide as a stable, lipidated long-acting amylin analogue, designed against the background of amylin’s high propensity to form amyloid fibrils [3]
  • Amylin receptor pharmacology: Amylin is a 37-amino-acid β-cell hormone whose receptors are G protein-coupled receptors formed by a core receptor and receptor activity-modifying proteins; it acts mainly in circumventricular organs of the brain [4]
  • Amylin brain circuitry: Reviewed signaling from the area postrema to the nucleus of the solitary tract and lateral parabrachial nucleus, and amylin action on POMC and NPY neurons in the arcuate nucleus [5]
